We woke in the night to a dripping sound in the bathroom.
Greg got up to investigate,
Turns out the room above ours had a "problem"
but no one was available at the desk downstairs so,
Greg went upstairs and Knocked on the door.
a man came to the door,
in a towel,
and said,
"problem - all better"

fires returned,
used all our towels to mop up the water on the floor
and the dripping stopped.
(like the man said, " problem - all better")
After finally falling back asleep,
We woke about 7:10
got up, dressed,
and went downstairs to another yummy breakfast
breads, cheeses, yoghurt, granola, juice...
I even had a hot chocolate
the clear night before meant for a chilly morning!
Just 2° c
brrr
But what a view!
After breakfast
we put on ALL our clothes...
(Just kidding)
and rode the
gondola, then the cable car, then another gondola,
then Another Cable car
To the top of
Paradise Glacier
amazing to be up in the Mountain tops
folks were skiing up there!
Then we visited the tourist spots
inside a glacier!
ice sculptures,
a ride down a tight little ice tube!
Greg is seriously claustrophobic
but did it anyways!
Then after a rest at the top in the ski lodge,
watching folks put on this ski gear,
and some putting on
their serious hiking gear
(there were groups hiking up
through the snow
to the peak above us-
my pictures weren't great,
but it was fun to see them with our own eyes
making their way!
We hopped back on the cable cars and gondolas
and jumped off early (not the bottom)
and hiked up a ways
To a very cool
bridge!
then hiked for about 1.5 hours
back down to our hotel.
At the gondola station where we started today,
(right next to our hotel)
They have a live cam
of the top.
It was now
-2° C
and windy
and in the clouds
we had a perfect day.
It WAS cold up there,
but we were
prepared.
"The cold never bothered us"
nor did the over
12,000 ft elevation
Troupers are we!
now a little rest
and then off to town
to do more
exploring
(and maybe a little more shopping!)
(just a little of what we saw on our hike down Today,
famous black nosed sheep)
above, if you look closely, you can see the hikers.
This was a picture Greg took!.Pretty cool
This is a picture someone else took of us on the top of
Paradise Glacier
This is looking back from the top of
Paradise Glacier
You ride up an elevator to get to the top,
from the
cable car
to the left you can see the ski track you take
to get to the lift
...
update
shopping in town today
produced a beautiful Swiss made watch
for Greg
and a pair of really nice
trekking poles
for me
Then we found a fun place for sweet crepes
She made them right there while we
watched
I had a
Toblerone Crepe
(melted toblerone candy bar inside)
Greg had
milk and white chocolate
melted inside his crepe.
So yummy
Then we walked on the other side of the river,
back to the street for our hotel
but found a
REALLY good Italian Pizza Place
So Good!

what a day! you guys know how to take advantage of every minute! so much beauty there! and the crepes!
